Theological / DevotionalAmalek. The reference here is to the hostility of the Amalekites toward Israel on their journey from Egypt (Exodus 17:8-16). It is true that at the time of the writing of the book of Deuteronomy the Amalekites were no longer a threat to Israel. Yet Jehovah did not forget the injury they had done to His people.
