Theological / Devotional

Before the altar. The priest waved the basket and placed it before the Lord, in acknowledgment of Jehovah’s ownership of the land. This ceremony was to be one of joy in God, as the Giver of harvest, peace, and prosperity. The principle of returning to God a portion of the blessings received from Him is one stated by the apostle Paul for Christians to emulate (1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 8:7-9).
