Theological / Devotional

Thine own body. Better, “of thy womb.” For a similar dreadful curse see Lev. 26:29; Jer. 19:9; Eze. 5:10. This was fulfilled in the siege of Samaria by the Syrians (2 Kings 6:26-29), in the siege of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar (Lam. 2:20 ; 4:10), and again at the siege of Jerusalem by Titus.
