Travail. See on ch. 1:13. The stern discipline of life necessary for the seeker after immortality (see Rom. 2:6, 7) is all under the hand of an omnipotent, loving Father. Yet man is free to choose his own way of life, to develop his own character, and to decide his own eternal destiny. The practical difficulties of life can be met successfully only under God’s leading.
