Commentary on Ecclesiastes 7:18

Theological / Devotional

Take hold. An admonition to avoid excessive or precipitate action. Moderation is a good rule in life; extremes are generally dangerous.

Feareth God. The ability to go through life, achieving its true objectives, is possible only in the fear of the Lord (Neh. 5:9; Job. 28:28; Ps. 111:10; Isa. 33:6).
