Theological / Devotional

Man. Literally, “the man,” the definite article stressing each individual’s relationship to the problem of death.

His time. Presumably a reference to death (see Eccl. 7:17), though it might also refer to any misfortune.

The snare. A figure depicting sudden disaster (Ps. 91:3; 124:7; Prov. 1:17; 6:5; Hosea 7:12).
