Theological / Devotional

The elders. It did not require many words to present the important issue or to answer the imperative question as to whether the people would accept the covenant upon the terms God required. However, before presenting these terms to the people, Moses summoned the elders, preparatory to setting the matter before the people (ch. 24:3; PP 303).
