Theological / Devotional

If fire break out. It is customary in the East, as elsewhere, to burn the grass or weeds on a farm at certain seasons of the year. Through carelessness the fire might spread and either damage or destroy a neighbor’s crops. Of course, restitution was to be made, but not double, for the damage was not due to a deliberate act such as permitting one’s cattle to graze in another man’s field.
