Theological / Devotional

Take of the blood. This “blood” and the “anointing” appear to be the only ritual required for the consecration of the common priests (Lev. 8:30). The blending of the blood and oil suggests the need of both justification through the atoning blood of Christ (Rom. 3:23-26) and sanctification through the grace of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 15:16).
