At even. Literally, “between the [two] evenings” (see on ch. 12:6). As to the purpose of these daily morning and evening sacrifices, see on Lev. 1:3. These “continual” (ch. 29:42) sacrifices were the occasions of morning and evening worship for the camp (Ps. 16:8; 55:17; 1 Thess. 5:17; PP 354).
