Theological / Devotional

Thy spokesman. God promised to be with both men — with Moses that he might express accurately what God revealed to him, and with Aaron that he might speak clearly and persuasively. Moses’ position was the more honorable, though Aaron’s may have seemed so to the people.

Instead of God. In Exodus 7:1 God promised Moses that his brother should be his prophet or spokesman. Divine inspiration was to rest upon Moses. Aaron was to accept Moses’ words as the words of God and do all that Moses bade him.
