Theological / Devotional

The sons of Korah. Not all the sons of Korah were destroyed with their father in the uprising in the desert (Numbers 26:11). The three sons mentioned here became heads of “families of the Korhites,” whose descendants were famous as temple singers in David’s time (1 Chronicles 6:22, 23, 31; Psalm 42:1 ; 44:1; etc.). Assir means “prisoner”; Elkanah, “God has founded”; and Abiasaph, “my father has gathered.”
