Great hailstones. Compare Psalm 11:6; 18:13, 14; Ezekiel 38:22. Undoubtedly, the reference here is primarily to the Babylonian invasion, which the Jews would be unable to withstand, despite all their boasted preparations. See on Ezekiel 13:12.
