Burn thine houses. See 2 Kings 25:9 and Jeremiah 52:13 for the literal fulfillment of this prediction. There is a blending here of the figurative and the literal; the house of the adulteress shall be destroyed, and the houses of Jerusalem shall be burned.

Many women. The heathen nations, according to the analogy of Jerusalem as an unfaithful wife.
