Theological / Devotional

Rabbah. Rabbath-ammon, the capital city of the Ammonites (2 Sam. 12:26; Eze. 21:20), 23 mi. (36.8 km.) east of the Jordan near the source of the Jabbok. Ptolemy Philadelphus later founded the city of Philadelphia on the site of Rabbah. This Philadelphia must not be confused with a city of the same name in Asia Minor (Rev. 1:11). The modern name of Rabbah is ‘Amman.
