Theological / Devotional

In my face. Literally, “in my nostrils,” a figure reflecting human anger (see Ps. 18:8). Such figures that ascribe human attributes to God are called anthropomorphisms. God describes His acts in terms with which men are familiar. In reality, God is vastly above human reason. “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord” (Isa. 55:8).
