Commentary on Ezekiel 8:10

Theological / Devotional

Pourtrayed. Perhaps carved in the form of relief work. Some commentators identify the idolatrous rites here practiced as of Egyptian origin, others, as of Babylonian. The word here translated “pourtrayed” appears again in eh. 23:14, specifically with reference to Chaldean images. The figures may not have been borrowed from any one source, but undoubtedly represented a variety of rites.
