Let now our rulers. Since there were so many cases that would have to be investigated and settled, the suggestion was made that the administrative officers and judicial authorities should be authorized to deal with this matter, and that all those who had transgressed would be required to appear before them.

Until the fierce wrath. This clause and the remainder of the verse is grammatically somewhat obscure, but the rendering of the KJV and the RSV is probably correct.
