Theological / Devotional

Have no portion. The danger of a possible rebellion was so exaggerated that the accusation appears almost ridiculous. The Samaritans claimed that a revolt of the Jews would result in the loss to Persia of the entire satrapy “Beyond the River” (see on Ezra 4:10) which comprised all the lands lying between Babylonia and Egypt, and of which Judea was one of the smallest.
