Theological / Devotional

A nail. The nail, or peg, here mentioned has been taken by some commentators — Luther, Keil, and others — to be a nail in the wall (see Isaiah 22:23, 25) on which utensils could be hung. The meaning would be that the people of God were sustained by this nail. Others have seen in it the tent peg, and thus symbolic of a sure abode.
