Theological / Devotional

Wrought effectually in. Literally, “worked in,” that is, animated. The word “effectually” was supplied by the translators. The success of Peter’s ministry constituted evidence that God was at work through him. But the same was true of Paul’s ministry. It would be inconsistent to acclaim the one and denounce the other. The source of Paul’s authority and power is the same as that of Peter. If one is an apostle, so is the other.

Was mighty in. Identical in the Greek with the word translated “wrought effectually in,” in the first part of the verse.
