Theological / Devotional

Arphaxad begat Salah. Inasmuch as the line from Arphaxad to Abraham is considered more in detail in chapter 11, Moses says little about it here. He follows it, however, through the first several generations in order to show the descent of the Joktan Arabs, who were cousins of the Hebrews through their common ancestor, Eber.
