Theological / Devotional

Isaac came from the way. As with the journey to Mesopotamia, nothing is said of the return trip to Canaan. Moses passes immediately to the scene of welcome to her future home. This event occurred at the well Hagar had named Lahai-roi (Genesis 16:14), in the Negeb to the south of Beersheba (see on Genesis 12:9). Since Sarah’s death, which had occurred at Hebron (Genesis 23:2), Abraham had apparently once more changed his place of abode.
