Theological / Devotional

The countenance of Laban. What Jacob overheard was confirmed by what he observed in Laban’s attitude. As a result of the fact that nothing Laban did seemed to hinder in the least Jacob’s rapid increase in wealth, even the pretense of friendliness that had marked their relations in the past had now changed to overt antagonism. In the providence of God, Laban’s attitude became the means of bringing about Jacob’s return to the land of his birth. Jacob’s conviction that the time had come to return to the land of his fathers was confirmed by a direct message from God.
