Theological / Devotional

The sons of Leah. The children are here arranged according to their respective mothers, not in the order of their birth. Leah’s sons appear first, inasmuch as she was first to give birth (chs. 29:32-35; 30:18-20); then follow the sons of Rachel (chs. 30:22-24; 35:18), the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s maid (ch. 30:4-8), and those of Zilpah (ch. 30:9-13).
