Theological / Devotional

Unto Isaac his father. Jacob’s arrival at Mamre constituted the formal return to his father’s house, where he now took up his abode as Isaac’s heir. Mamre was in the immediate vicinity of Hebron, formerly Kirjath-arba (see chs. 13:18; 23:2). Isaac lived 23 years after Jacob’s departure from Haran.
