Theological / Devotional

They. Literally, “he,” that is, the “wicked” man (see on v. 13). Take up. Here the prophet shows figuratively how the Babylonians conquer nations, the fishing tackle representing the Chaldean armies. However, this same figure could represent the activity of any wicked person.
