Theological / Devotional

Trembled. Literally, “writhed with pain”; figurative language to indicate an earthquake (see Ex. 19:18; Ps. 114:6, 7; see on Ps. 114:4). Deep. Heb. tehom (see on Gen. 1:2). Hands. Probably a poetic synonym for waves.
