Theological / Devotional

A city. Here, apparently, not any city of the literal land of Canaan. Abraham’s ultimate objective was the eternal inheritance God has provided for those who love and serve Him. Compare chapters 12:22; 13:14.

Foundations. Foundations imply permanence. Tents (verse 9) have no foundations.
