Theological / Devotional

Therefore sprang. On the birth of Isaac see Genesis 21:1-5.

Him as good as dead. Abraham was 100 years of age at the birth of Isaac. No one can read the record of events leading up to his birth without being impressed by the lack of faith displayed by both Abraham (Genesis 15:2-4; 16:1-3; 17:16, 17) and Sarah (chapter 18:9-15). But both finally overcame their natural doubts, and Isaac was, on both sides of the family, a child of faith.
