Theological / Devotional

Unto the angels. The position of Christ in contrast with that of the angels is further discussed (cf. ch. 1). The thought that follows implies the positive side — unto the Son the world to come has been subjected.

The world to come. Doubtless a reference to the kingdom of glory to be ushered in at the second advent of Christ (cf. on Matt. 4:17; 5:3). Compare Eph. 1:21; Heb. 6:5.
