Commentary on Hebrews 8:1

Theological / Devotional

Sum. Gr. kephalaion, “chief point,” “sum total,” “gist of the matter.” The author sets forth the principal point of what he has so far been saying.

Such an high priest. Christ is not an ordinary high priest, such as those in the Aaronic priesthood. They served on earth (v. 4); He serves next to the throne of God.

On the right hand. See on eh. 1:3.
