Because of the anointing. The meaning of this expression is not clear in this context. The word translated “anointing” means “fat,” or “oil.” The translation “anointing” is given because oil is used in the rite of anointing. The RSV reconstructs the Hebrew text to read, “He has gone up from Rinunon.”
