Theological / Devotional

The sea. Here probably used of the Nile (see on Gen. 41:34). Egypt was dependent upon the Nile for its very existence. Whenever the Nile was too low to flow into the irrigation canals, economic disaster followed (see on Gen. 41:34). A very low Nile would leave the arteries of the whole irrigation system completely dry.
