Theological / Devotional

They shall turn. The first clause reads literally, “The rivers [probably the Nile Delta complex and the irrigation canals] shall stink.”

Brooks of defence. Literally, “rivers of Egypt.” The word for “river” here used is ye’or (see on Gen. 41:1).
