Commentary on Isaiah 2:21

Theological / Devotional

The clefts of the rocks. Isaiah repeats the picture of v. 19, with certain additions and variations. This is the climax of the view presented to Isaiah concerning the terrible scenes yet to come upon the earth. The hour is near when this prophecy is to be fulfilled (see 7T 141) and the Lord will reveal Himself to shake terribly the earth and to deal in justice with those who have knowingly rejected His mercy and violated His law.
