Theological / Devotional

Set a watchman. Isaiah was first shown the approaching Elamite-Median host (v. 2), then the feasting Babylonians (vs. 4, 5), and now the entrance of the invading hordes into the city (vs. 6-9). The prophet identifies himself with a watchman on the walls of Babylon prior to its fall, and as a watchman he reports what he sees.
