Theological / Devotional

Fitches are not threshed. A farmer who used a heavy cart with spiked wheels to thresh out seeds for which a light beating with a rod was sufficient, would be considered foolish. Isaiah’s point is that some individuals, like the fitch and the cummin, respond satisfactorily to a light threshing. The Lord can deal much more gently with them than He does with others.
