Theological / Devotional

Thou hast clothing. Attempts would be made to thrust leadership upon men with property, ignoring the fact that the possession of material advantages is not necessarily evidence of ability to govern.

Let this ruin. By “this ruin” the speaker refers to the nation as if it were a dilapidated dwelling. Times would be far from prosperous.
