Commentary on Isaiah 30:19

Theological / Devotional

Dwell in Zion. These comforting words addressed to the inhabitants of Jerusalem seem especially appropriate to the period of anxiety and distress following the fall of Samaria and the captivity of Israel. The dwellers in Zion are now given the assurance that they will not suffer the same fate that has befallen their northern neighbors. God will hear their cries, and will save them and their city (see ch. 37:21-36).
