Commentary on Isaiah 30:30

Theological / Devotional

His glorious voice. In highly figurative language Isaiah depicts the defeat of the Assyrian hosts (see v. 31). Similar language is used elsewhere to describe actual events at the second coming of Christ (Rev. 16:18-21 ; 19:15).

The lighting down. Literally, “the descent.”

Scattering. Literally, “bursting [of clouds].”
