Theological / Devotional

The beasts of the south. In this solemn message the prophet graphically portrays the shameless journey of the envoys, with their asses and camels carrying presents, on their way through the Negeb and the Egyptian desert to seek the help of the nation from which God had once delivered them. The land through which they passed was desolate, haunted by wild beasts, vipers, and venomous serpents.
