Theological / Devotional

Ashamed and confounded. This promise was impressively fulfilled in the destruction of Sennacherib’s army. He who fights against the people of God fights against God Himself. With the help of the Lord the weakest child of His is more than a match against God or against His people will ultimately perish, whereas the meek and faithful will inherit the earth (Ps. 37:9-11, 20, 29, 37, 38; Matt. 5:5). Instead of “perish” the Dead Sea scroll 1QIs has “dry up.”
