The carpenter. Craftsmen engaged in the manufacture of images joined efforts, one workman encouraging and assisting another in the multiplication of gods they hoped would deliver them from the hand of Cyrus. The nations of the earth are pictured as looking to their false gods to thwart a movement inspired and directed by the Lord of heaven.
