Theological / Devotional

Made me to serve. Or, “burdened me” (RSV). Because man sinned, Christ must leave heaven and take “upon him the form of a servant” (Phil. 2:7). It was our sins that caused the King of glory to become a servant among men. God’s requirements had been reasonable, and were all for the good of men, but they had been unwilling to do their part. God was utterly weary of their hypocritical pretense at worship (Isa. 1:13, 14).
