Theological / Devotional

A ravenous bird from the east. This expression is figurative of Cyrus (see on chs. 41:2; 44:28; 45:1). Cyrus was a “shepherd” to the scattered flock of Israel, but a ravenous bird of prey to Babylon, the enemy of God’s people.
