Commentary on Isaiah 49:17

Theological / Devotional

Thy children. That is, the Jews of the Exile, who would return to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem after the destruction by Nebuchadnezzar (2 Kings 25:10).

Thy destroyers. The Assyrians, and, more specifically, the Babylonians. The destroyers of Jerusalem would themselves be destroyed.
