Commentary on Isaiah 61:9

Theological / Devotional

Their seed. That is, “their posterity.”

Known. That is, known well and favorably (see Ps. 76:1; Prov. 31:23). Men will recognize that God’s people are especially blessed and favored by Heaven (see Deut. 4:6-8 ; 28:10; pp. 28, 29).

The Gentiles. Literally, “the nations” (see pp. 28-30).
