Theological / Devotional

Delusions. Heb. ta‘alulim, from the root ‘dial, which in one of its forms means “to deal severely with.” Probably a better meaning of ta‘alulim is “severe treatment”, “affliction” (RSV). Yet in the severe treatment that came upon Judah the Lord had a wise and merciful purpose, as He did with the ten tribes. What He could not accomplish through them in their own land, He would accomplish by scattering them among their heathen neighbors (PK 292).
