Theological / Devotional

Witnesses to record. That is, “to attest” the authenticity, and thereby emphasize the importance of the document. Uriah was the priest later called upon by Ahaz to build a new altar for the Temple according to the pattern of an altar he had seen in Damascus (see on 2 Kings 16:10, 11). The identity of Zechariah is not known.
